Silber Appointed to Trial Lawyers Board of Directors

Wednesday, July 15th, 2009

Josh Silber has been appointed to the Board of Directors of the New York State Trial Lawyers Association (NYSTLA).  A member since 1997, he begins a three year term on the Board of Directors.

For over 55 years, the New York State Trial Lawyers Association has worked to protect New York’s civil justice system, fighting against legislative initiatives that threaten to limit the rights of injured consumers. These threats now exist at the federal, state, and city levels, making NYSTLA a crucially important voice for the voiceless. Our mission: “To promote a safer and healthier society, to assure access to the civil justice system by those who are wrongfully injured and to advance representation of the public by ethical, well-trained lawyers.”

The New York State Trial Lawyers Association, founded in 1953, currently has over 4,600 members across New York.

Abend & Silber to attend NYSTLA’s Lobby Day in Albany, NY

Friday, April 24th, 2009

On behalf of the New York State Trial Lawyers Association (NYSTLA), Richard Abend & Josh Silber will be in Albany, New York on April 27-28 visiting with several members of the New York State Assembly and New York State Senate.  Lobby Day is one of most effective means of standing up for the rights of our clients as well as protecting the civil justice system. This year, we have an opportunity to roll back several regressive anti-consumer initiatives and to advocate for legislation that will bring some of New York’s archaic tort laws into the 21st Century.  “The opportunity to meet face to face with the important elected officials of the State and to personally discuss the challenges our clients face fighting for justice is well worth the sacrifice of the trip” said Abend.  Silber added “the relationships we make and continue to foster year after year in Albany have had a very positive effect on legislation that NYSTLA supports and on legislation that would harm our clients if made into law.”
